Ord-vegas has seen some very very light rain, some slightly gusty winds and a tiny tiny bit of hail today, thats it.

Watching the news, there was a big grass fire near the Minden exit on I-80 that closed the interstate for awhile. Bless those firefighters who battled the blaze and are still on the scene.

Big fire also near Chester. Of course the winds made the situation very dangerous.

LOL Yup, tpabes, I do love it. I love Mother Nature when she's pizzed; love the passion and violence of thunderstorms and lightning and wind, love the blizzards and yes, even the tornadoes.

I see the Weather Channel could FINALLY locate NE on the map; of course they were in Rapid talking about the "snowicane" with the gusts over 74 mph. The thermometer may read "20" but with that wind it is much colder!

It is still blowing HARD here and has been, all night; cycling the storm around and over us. The next storm this week ought to be interesting, too!

The other school districts around us are closed. Since all of my friends' ranches are calving and have been for two weeks (oh, the poor little babies!); and many live down unplowed dirt roads, I doubt many kids will be coming in today anyway.

The sun is out, and the blizzard is still blowing HARD.
The snow fence in the pasture north of the corral kept the 6 foot drifts out of the corral this time; but the snow is already over the top of it. There are 2 foot drifts in the corral. My Pcikup truck has a 3 foot drift piled against it. There are two foot drifts at the end of our driveway. The town plow is put up; he tried to get everything early this AM but his efforts were filled in as fast as he ran by. He'll be back out after the wind slows down/stops.

First snow storm went north, second snow storm went south, third snow storm is going north. Whatever the heck I'm doing, I'm gonna keep doing it. Could sure use a little moisture though.
