since the margin of error is then greater than the actual number of positive antibody test
results which is running somewhere between 5 and 10% in the areas tested so far.

"Vaccines help develop immunity by imitating an infection. This type of infection, however, almost never causes illness, but it does cause the immune system to produce T-lymphocytes and antibodies. Sometimes, after getting a vaccine, the imitation infection can cause minor symptoms, such as fever. Such minor symptoms are normal and should be expected as the body builds immunity."

Your statement flies in the face of decades of virological research.

If you have not already seen it, you and your fellow leftists ought to view this interview with Dr. David Katz on Real Time with Bill Maher:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lze-rMYLf2E

Spoiler alert...he is not a fan of the president, but he sure seems to make a lot of sense by putting science before politics.

No, and I'm not a leftist. Right now we have no vaccine, and we do not know yet if you are immune after catching Covid. Like a tetanus shot, catching tetanus does not make you immune, but a vaccine does.

Right now a percentage of antibody tests say you have antibodies, when you don't, and then any antibodies might not make you immune.

I know when I get an influenza shot that it may be the wrong strain, and I could catch the flu anyway, but it has shown to frequently confer some immunity, but not always. Which is fine for the flu, it is not as dangerous.

If you want to risk it, you are certainly free to do so. The rest of us are just discussing the science as it develops.

Also, are you in one of the counties that is going to be locked down through the end of May? What is the science being used to defend this action? What is your sense of how the population feels about this?
Sorry. Local radio in NorCal. I should have clarified.

My county is not one of the Bay Area counties so hopefully we will not be locked down forever.

I find a real mix among my friends. I can't speak for others in the community. If I use personal conversations and social media posts I would say it's very 50/50.

Overall I think the Governor has done well, and I have the same high opinion of most residents here in Nevada.

If you open too early, and before you have met Federal guidelines we will end up with a new spike in infections and right back to a full quarantine. Be smart, do it right and we will be able to keep businesses open. I'm watching Georgia, they seem committed to opening before they should.

For the last two days, US cases has been rising up to around peak levels, that is not a good sign, and I suspect in two weeks, a little incubation time after people went protesting without appropriate PPE? Probably another spike.

If you want to get back in business, do this thing right and you'll get what you want. Otherwise you will drag this out until we have a vaccine in 2022.
Caesars and MGM are not where you should be spending your money, of course the don't want to open. They aren't paying their employees and they know if they open know the casino won't be full for a couple months

Great video. His proposed solution is basically to find a middle ground which makes the most sense.

Beyond the obvious, very old people, people with medical condition/weak immune system, who will make the determination, the decision to say the rest are not high risk, even those in their 50s are already considered high risk based on the # of deaths. Will the state government or federal government exempt those people from working?

The quarantine as discussed is not forever but somehow clown supporters think there is NO end in sight. There are plans to reopen our state and our country but it needs to be done in a way that it will not bring us back again from where we started and in the process overwhelming our hospitals and medical professionals once again, worse, causing more deaths.

Went for a great hike around Spooner Lake today. Officially it's closed but we saw maybe 20 people during a 2.5 mile hike, lots of families sitting at socially acceptable distances eating lunch on the picnic tables, and a couple guys fishing.
