Not trying to be snarky but I thought the vast majority of us either have insurance through work, COBRA after leaving job, Obamacare, Medicare, Medicaid!? How many people end up being liable for $30k in hospital bills?

That was the average cost for a Covid stay. All the rest is not really on topic. I have no idea what the "vast majority" of you have.

The Fed government said something about the bills being covered, there are reports that isn't the case. Have to wait and see.

The casinos are using this time to deep clean all the hotel rooms and casino floors. Something that hasn't been done in decades. That sounds like time well spent.
I'm glad you said this. I;ve been wondering why the casinos don't seem to be pressuring the guv to reopen. They are billion dollar empires, seems like they could bring down a lot of pressure if they wanted too.

Ok, so getting back to the original post, what will happen to smoking in casinos after they reopen, now that everything will be clean? Smoking with masks? Peoples’ dirty hands back and forth to their faces and then onto gaming equipment? Contaminated air in the midst of a respiratory virus? If the revenue from smoking is so important, will smokers be required to buy their junk at the casino instead of bringing their own in? After all, the only reason it’s permitted is to keep gamblers at the tables. What about workers? It’s not as simple as saying go work somewhere else. What about smaller places where cleanliness will be too expensive to maintain to the standard required now? Lots of questions.

Smoking isn't essential to gaming, casinos that have banned smoking suffer small insignificant declines in revenue initially, but then things go back to normal.

Guess what will happen after that, people will get infected by it b/c of the silence or not making things aware to people and even more will be getting it around the world. Where did the Spanish flu start?? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanis...out_the_source It's the spanish flu because it was allowed to be reported in spain but not the rest of Europe where it had been happening also. Think next time China wants to hide the flu and someone comes back to the US and we report it and it becomes the American Flu or the Las Vegas flu (thanks Chinese tourist). How do you think the LVCVA will like to deal with that? "What disease you get in Vegas, Stays with you forever", "Come for the gambling, leave alive or dead we don't care as long as you pay your room and resort fees" "Roll the dice and see if you win a Virus"

2. There is no way of knowing if we would have had the same number or even higher numbers without the lockdown but looking at other places that locked down too late, NYC, Italy, we know it was the right and smart thing to do.
Do you know that China is teaming up with Russia and Iran and spreading propaganda across Europe and the rest of the world that it started with US soldiers and it’s USA’s fault, not China. https://www.businessinsider.com/russ...h-other-2020-4

So as an American who loves this country, liberal or conservative (I’m sure you love this country, right? Right?) would it make sense to remind those of the truth or worry about the feelings of the country that covered up the virus, hoarded 2 billion masks, destroyed our economy, killed 50,000 Americans and counting and are trying to twist the blame on us to the rest of the world to make us look bad?

Tell me, what do you think about them blaming us, since you are so worried about me blaming them?

CW, people keep saying open up the economy and tell old people to stay home. So yes it’s being said. Just read a article that people in their 30-40’s with no underlying issues are getting mild cases of the virus and then suffering big strokes. They are seeing big blood clots in the brain and think it’s from the virus but need to study it more.

There was also a statement in the Wapo article that the pick up of bodies of people who died at home is up 4X during the corona-virus. That msay well prove even scarier.

Whether or not this latter statement is true, your original statement is wrong and no, it is not being said by anyone.

I've seen that written by lots of people here on CD. Frequently.
