How can this be, if school systems are run by individual towns? Doesn't each district have it's own "personality" according to what the residents are willing to fund?

Not saying this isn't true in the US in general, but I thought NH was unique in this sense.

Seems to me - SgtHoskins et al - that NH is a conservative BLUE state in a liberal region.

1. The 2nd Amendment is not about hunting.

2. Yes, Obama is anti gun ownership. Look at his votes, not what he says now.

Default obama and his wacky gun laws will hurt NH!

obama and Biden are both very tough on guns, of course they wont say it now with less then a month before we vote. But if you search hard into their past voting records , you will find incredibly tough laws on all guns. I myself heard from obama's mouth the mention of banning Shotguns to citizens and AK-47's. Does obama think the gangs buy shotguns & Ak-47's from their local gun store? Criminals get drugs & guns illegally. We the normal people buy our drugs legally and guns legally. Leave the guns alone! We should not be controlled by a guy who never ran anything period! Not even his own busniess!

The NRA isnt fighting against obama for fun.

Yes. This is the only piece of the puzzle that would rationalize the logic acrobatics they use to pass the ridiculous laws they do or to even discuss the subject with such confident ignorance. I am 100% convinced that the anti-gun politicians and frankly an awful lot if not all of the anti-gun/gun-ignorant population honestly believe that ghetto trash gang-banger thugs are walking into a local shop and dropping $500 on an AK-47 and another $50 or so on ammunition.

If the politicians really arent so ignorant and do know the reality of the situation and still continue their campaign for law-abiding disarmament then that simply makes them evil.

I have a SIGP229 and have a concealed weapons permit

I hardly ever carry it except when I go to places I do not know, the SIG is next to my bed when I go to sleep and my wife and I feel much more safer with it than without it.

Does NH have open carry, not that I would just wondering?

I do not hunt as I don't really like it but I did not come here to this country or state to tell the natives what they should and shouldn't do either.

I hope other immigrants have the same view as well, no point coming to a place and trying to change it .

I left England for a reason and do not want America to look like England.

the second amendment is as precious as any other amendment and obama should know this by now.

His votes are against guns , I'll look at his past votes not his I want to get elected speeches
I have faith that folks in NH are not fooled by bumper sticker slogans or just empty words

That's right, we can keep the criminals in check by passing more laws, because criminals follow the law.......oh wait

Seriously, gun control, and the war on drugs for that matter, are a total farce. An AK 47 is no more dangerous than my Dodge Dakota or my Louisville Slugger. It's the person using it that is the danger. No amount of laws will keep guns out of the hands of criminals, but it will keep them out of my hands as a law abiding citizen, and thus give the criminals even more power.

And yes, the 2nd has nothing to do with hunting....if people cannot see that they need to seriously sit down and read the constitution and the writings of our founders. The founders would be considered extremely liberal by many conservatives, and extremely conservative by many liberals. In NH, at least more so than any other state, it seems the people remember to some degree the original intent of the founders. That doesn't make them red in the same way some bible thumping red state it. In fact, most southerners seem to sneer when you tell them about NH. They think it's some elitist liberal state. It also makes NH faaaaar more different than the Big Mother states in the region like Mass.....where people think everyone up here is a gun toting backwoods whacko (but they all want to move here). In that regard, I don't think NH fits into a "red state" or a "blue state", it fits into a "free state", at least in some regards.....some it most certainly does not.

Those people who so easily dismiss the freedoms granted by the constitution deserve none of them.

Too bad that more like you are not moving here. While yes there are many that move to NH to preserve the NH way of life, we are getting a good deal of liberals escaping the high taxes, crime, etc. of their homes only to bring their mindset here. My husband works with a few people-the only reason they moved here was because they sold their house for mucho bucks in MA and were able to buy something in cash here. They could care less about anything NH and one of them who moved all the way up to Ossipee compains all the time that NH has "too much open space" and that they have to drive to everything. It is people like that who get my blood boiling. I will never forget the day she came to work and complained-it was during hunting season and on one of the back roads she saw hunters carrying their guns walking down the road. Being a commie, she was mortified and of course she thinks there should be a law against that. I thought my husband was going to lose it with her. This is the same person who "volunteers" at the polls to make sure college student's "rights" are preserved on election day. In otherwords, this person helps them with voter fraud.

I wish you and bryfry were already living here and could vote- we need more people like you who do not want NH to change.

Yes, I totally agree! You guys should be here instead of transplants taking advantage of what NH offers and then trying to change this state into the one they came from.

Fishn, I'm in rep jail, or would have repped you!
