In all the years I lived in NJ, I never ate at the White Manna in Hackensack. I'm thinking of making a special trip, next time I'm in NJ. Is the food really THAT good there? Curious.

White Manna? EW!! I was all pumped to try it out. I got there, squeezed my 6'5" frame onto that little stool and ordered 4 burgers. What I saw next almost melted my eyes.
The last was handling the raw meat, the money, and the buns, and there was no washing of the hands. I walked out and the guy behind the counter literallt ran after me in the parking lot and asked why I am leaving. I told him and then he had the nerve to demand I pay him for the burgers! I laughed, got in my car and went to Rutts Hut.

Not really... maybe sausage gravy but you don't see it much on the menu. Now, one thing we have that no one else can top...except NYC is Pizza! Try a pizza from down south...cardboard with sauce and cheap cheese : )
I hear ya! The problem is they can't get the right bread for a good sub like in the old days. I can't stand anything a "chain" has to offer be it Quizno's, Olive Garden, etc. Does anyone remember Jimmy Buff's hot dogs? Were they not the BEST? The original store in Irvinton just closed last year. West Orange and I think it's Watchung still remain.

If it's on the safer side, maybe I'll give 'em a try.
I'm always staying in that town, and will be back in a week and a half. Wouldn't mind trying some new stuff in/around there.
