They say the MTA has budget problems. But they run two books, one book shows they are in deep red and the other shows that revenue has climbed beyond projections. They are constantly crying for more money yet I don't see the tolls going down. Somewhere they are hemorrhaging money badly and nobody cares because economy is great so lets just ask the taxpayer for another repairs bill.

Are you suggesting that we should adopt a Communist form of government in order to have public transportation that is the equal of what they have in Shanghai? Or, are you advocating higher taxes and/or higher fares in order to improve mass transit in this area? What are your solutions to the obvious problems that we have in regard to mass transit?

it is the age of trump and he did promise beautiful infrastructure

We are supposed to be better and more efficient than communists. What happened? Most powerful economy can't fix a few subway lines and highways. Watch YouTube how Chinese built a new train station in 16 hours. How long is it taking the PA to fix Penn?

in the time we approved for Penn station repairs which is a 8 yr project just to study. China has deployed the trans Africa rail system.

China's central government is not that much different than our one party system. The dems and GOP are really one party. It does things on behalf of lobbyists. Never for the interests of the people or country.

Ppl are sheep

We all just need to stop voting, but we will never be on the same page

Just too many ppl with different agendas

I dont see any of this being fixed in any of our lifetimes, so just do what you can do to have a roof over you and your family's head until you drop dead, because the well-being of the American people is simply overall not important anymore.

I gave Reps.

So there has been absolutely no talk of extending the PATH south to Bayonne, and north to Union City? Why?

Why would the PA fix Penn? Penn station is not and never has been a PA facility.

I meant Amtrak. Penn station work has already begun but it has little to do with the track and tunnel work which they were supposed to perform soon.

The Hudson Gateway project that was supposed to bring new tunnels and tracks was cancelled and that would've expanded NJTransit with junction to PATH but it's all history now unless Trump give it green light.

Without new expansion for PATH & NJTranit, the amount of ridership will only expand beyond the current system can handle. PA is only widening the Harrison Station to accept more people at the platform. They're currently running 6-8min trains during rush hour. They would need to add more trains and drop to running a train every 5mins in the future or else the Harrison, JSQ station will become zombieland.

There was in the 1920s, I believe. Not so much PATH (PATH didn't exist, though much of its infrastructure did at the time), but a Hudson Subway was proposed underneath Hudson Blvd (now Kennedy Blvd) from Bayonne up into North Bergen. Could you imagine that with a transfer at JSQ, and a 7 line extension connecting up north?
