This may seem silly, but what did you guys do when you were feeling homesick for NJ?

I have yet to live there, but I feel more at home there than I ever have elsewhere (so, it feels like home to me, and I pretty much consider it so, right now).

I've been away for almost 5 months, and I'm working on saving the money to move, so a visit, unfortunately, is out of the question, since I'd rather save the money to live there. However, missing NJ tremendously is eating me up.

So, what did you guys do? Shanny? anyone?

Every time I feel I miss So. NJ, I pick up my book "The Soprano State" & start reading it, then I check the home prices and the sad feeling leaves me as fast as it came on. Visiting the kids twice a year and stocking up on Italian bread and pizza is all I need to come back to our home in the South.
Good luck in your move and save lots of money.

Same here- all it took was a short 4-day visit to remind me why we left. Next time I won't even need to do that- I'll just think back to the last time I visited, and how it just wasn't "home" anymore.

Left for 4 years and although I liked my new area (Old Westbury, NY) I tend to miss NJ but not where I used to live. NY has way too much traffic and the cost of living is a bit higher than NJ. Also although the area I am in has open areas, there is nothing like the amount that NJ has.
