It would rock for me, I don't drive much at all. If its during the week, I'm driving a couple miles at most, and thats a major rarity - once a month. During the weekend, I drive 40 miles. Once. Roundtrip.
I should pay like $2/yr
Yeah i hear that, i don't drive much at all.
Actually my insurance co. should be paying me!

LOL I put about 40 miles on my SUV per week since I am not working from home. They should be paying me!
My wife and I do a combined 60-70k year on our daily drivers. I like my $1300/year full coverage on 4 vehicles through NJ Manufacturers... no changing for me please.
its funny on another forum people were absolutely up in arms about this i will ask my wife (who i think drives more aggressively than myself!!!) and if she is ok we'll sign up.
i use progressive, and would happily let them see how i drive like an old lady for lower rates. obviously with the box you know you are being watched, it's not like its a secret. be on your best behavior.
i drove so little, ended up selling my car - we are a 1 car couple, not that this is anything to brag about really but it's better than 2.
car insurance is one of our lower expenses these days anyway.
here is what they told me, i cant sign up until my policy is up for renewal. i guess the math would be too complicated for them. i'll try again in a few days anyway.
I'd be very concerned about this -- keep in mind the device would "monitor" everything -- it is only 'attached' to a computer that logs what you do versus what the legal limit is. If you travel 3 miles over the limit most of the time because it is impossible to hold a steady speed during rush-hour traffic, it will only 'tell' the computer you were going over the limit. Sure, maybe a human could factor the amount into it -- but with thousands of policy holders, what company is going to have time for that. After your initial 'reduction' skyrockets back up to what you were paying, or more, how easy do you think it will be to get new insurance -- really dumb idea! (even the person who works from home, has to leave the house sometime -- are they really going to factor in number of miles? I doubt it (most companies already do that once per year when they ask for your annual miles) -- if 50% of the time, or 10% -- or whatever % of time you exceed the speed limit by even one mile per hour, and that is technically speeding, it will go on your record) -- No More Big Brother, Please!
