Thoughts and prayers from us to you JDTH. Needles are scary. I don't like them either. Nerves take a long time to heal if ever so that should do the trick.
Nerves will grow back, it just takes time. Right now they are just going in and numbing them. It could last up to a year. About 5 years ago they went in and burnt about 2 inches of the nerves away (radio frequency ablation) and it took almost 5 years for them to grow back.
Thanks everybody for the thoughts and prayers. I appreciate it. I should be fine. I just get a little anxious and nervous (white coat syndrome).
I know what you mean.
I'm not a big fan of doctors unless they want to cure someone of an ailment.
Most don't know how - also known as the legal drug pushers.
Never made contact with Mutz as he did not call me at the new number. Would have liked to hook up for a beer and/or a whiskey! The RV seems to have survived the buffeting it took wrenching it from the sand (a Dodge 3500 Cummins diesal and a Chevy 3500 Duramax with an Allison tranny!!! Doing dual duty to pull her free!!!). Think we will hit some northern border canyons and camps next time in NM. So much to see and do...so little time! Maybe in the Fall or around Christmas we will sally forth again southwards! Love to meet y'all someday!
Sort of a little funny story to tell about my nerve block yesterday. I made it perfectly clear to the nurses and aids that I did not want to see the needles when I walked into the room. They cooperated fully and sort of screened them from my view by positioning themselves in the room as I walked in.
I got up on the table. face down and got into the position needed for the procedure. The aids then did a inventory of what the doctor needed for my procedure. This is what they said "two 10" 18 gauge needles, a 12" 20 gauge needle, a 22 gauge needle, etc, and then it was on to the pain killers Xylocaine, M-something-caine and one other pain killer". I was a little groggy by then so the quotes are not perfect. It really did not ease my mind. I would like to thank them so much for not letting me see the needles but describing them in full detail to me so I knew exactly how I would be violated in the next 20 minutes wasn't quite right either. If I remember correctly there were 6 needles used. OUCH!!!
Anyway, things went fine. I seem to doing just fine. Time will tell and thanks to you all for caring. It means a lot to me!!
