Indiana was somwhat of a mining state back in the early days but the days of mining are long gone. I dont really think we have "ghost towns" but who knows I havent been to every nook and cranny of Indiana.
I've been to my favorite ghost town called 'White Oaks' several times over the years here and the graveyard is kinda eery as i'd hate to there at midnight .

Our DMV experience in Cloudcroft was pleasant.
We were in there less than an hour. The paperwork seems to take forever but the 2 ladies working were very nice.
We took our birth certificates, voting registration cards, military ID's, ss cards, water bill, electric bill and our Texas DL's and we had all they needed.
We didn't know they didn't take credit cards. They take checks and cash. Fortunately, we had enough cash. Who carries there checkbook around anyway?
So the thing to do is if you live in this part of the state, get your DL's in Cloudcroft and get your vehicle registrations at 54 Salvage going toward Tularosa from Alamogordo.
The picture on my license has a thinner looking face than my previous license. Guess I've lost more weight this past few years.
Now if I can only get the people that know me to stop viewing me as a fat *****, life will be good.
Just kidding.
Alison - Next time take a utility bill to the water or electric place and have them print out a form with your daughters name on it along with your name.
Well, I guess I was wrong in predicting little interest in a general chat thread...gee, first time! LOL
But here we are, talking DMV blues here and not in the DMV thread. Aww, who cares....
My wife was going to change the registration on her 67 Beetle to New Mexico from MI. She got all her paperwork together, and I mean ALL of it, and showed up at the office. Three hours, three people, and the prospect of another hour waiting for "someone" to come back from lunch later, she decided that the Beetle would probably be just as happy with MI tags.
What a bureaucratic nightmare.
In Alamo, we go to North 54 Salvage, real fast, but costs a bit more, who cares, my time is worth that.
