Of course there are exceptions to every rule! Occasionally even Rush Limbaugh makes some sense, incredible as that may seem to many. And, yes, I have a very successful lawyer in my family who is a senior counsel for a major corporation and I deeply respect and admire his grit and tenacity. Generally speaking, however, If asked what I thought of 100,000 lawyers suddenly transported to the bottom of the Pacific would signify...I'd answer: a good start! Many are abominations and protectors of criminals and criminal pursuits by both street thugs with money and global corporations with power and clout. Perhaps my previous life in criminal justice (police and corrections) has jaded me. I've seen too many abuses by legal manipulations to be very fond of the profession generally. Your wife sounds like another species altogether: a crusader and perhaps an idealist. I can respect those qualities for sure my friend.
Thanks for the kind words. The hand is constantly vexing me but at least it's still attached to my arm! The gimped hand actually is stimulating me to resume semi-serious training so it's not all bad. I'll never play piano again...but I never did to begin with!

Ever notice how all the screeching gasbags resemble each other so closely??? Rove, Gingrinch, Limpbag, O'Really the Clown, Delay, et al, ad nauseum? They all are puffy, soft, pillowy pork buckets who could never manage a single sit up. Tiny facial features in great grissly fat noggins and rather feminized bodies. I've long thought they are so angry at the world because, as High Schoolers, they were probably abused by the strapping jocks in their respective locker rooms...snapping wet towels on their pink giggling backsides and the like...as the other kids guffawed away! Made 'em mad for life...and launched their dark crusades!
Yes JDTH, I do identify with Safer's aspersion. The majority of them are lower than dirt. A great sage once quipped: "In times of Revolution, hang first all the lawyers!" (Your honey and my cousin excluded of course)
Love your pix by the way, very nice shots. We were in Ruidoso last week and LOVED IT! What a great and classy town! The high dollar horses were unexpected delights. What a wonderful place to live!
