Hello, I am of legal drinking age and I have the under 21 Texas ID still because it has not expired yet.I need to know of good safe restaurants that will serve me in Carlsbad and Alamogordo.I am thinking of Pepper's in Alamogordo but idk if they will serve me. I have had two places in New Mexico that refused to give me a drink on previous trips due to my ID.Thanks in advance.
How many times you going to bring this up?

Why don't you get a 21 and over, horizontal oriented ID? Texas and New Mexico have been using the same system. Vertical ID's tend to indicate a under 21 user in Texas and New Mexico.

Like I said Im just gonna wait till it expires....I mean if your ID obviously says your over 21 then whats the big deal, I should be able to get a beer.I am not trying to argue or anything....I was simply trying to get some advice for an upcoming trip. That is all.

Why can't servers use common sense and just look at the birthday? Why should someone pay to replace a valid license due to picture orientation?
It's like in MN, some places wanted the red paper license part in addition to your photocard as proof to buy beer. Your job isn't to ascertain my ability to drive, it is to see I'm over 21. It is really stupid.
While I agree that simply dismissing vertical IDs borders on absurd, business owners simply cannot trust their employees. One mistake by an employee can cost a business owner their entire livelihood. One sting can send a business owner into bankruptsy.
The stores here in WA have it on the doors, before you walk in, that if you have a vertical license you will not be sold alcohol or tobacco. It doesn't matter what age your ID says.
Simply go get an adult, horizontal, ID. They are doing their job.

Thanks for your advice....I renewed my ID a while back and now its horizontal so it should be all good when I am in the Land of Enchantment again.
