If there's a Libertarian candidate in this race, the party is being awfully quiet about it.

Even their own website only lists 3 Libertarian candidates in the 2010 election...none for governor.

I support Diane Denish for several reasons. I ride the Rail Runner. Watched the GOP debate and they all seemed to be anti-train to some extent. Some even wanted to close it.

Also, I support Domestic Partnership. Thus far, I haven't heard a GOP candidate support it. Why should I vote for someone who won't even try to protect the people he/she is supposed to. Plus, every GOP candidate seems to be "pro-life." I'm sorry, but that's a hard choice in the first place, don't make it harder. I like Diane alot. Meeting her she is nice and personable. I like that. Much better than Richardson. I like what I've seen her do. I think she would represent all of New Mexico well, especially since she comes from SE NM and travels greatly throughout the state.

Susana? Won't vote for someone Palin endorses. She might quit on us.

The most important reason being, of course, that "she's cool".

Did I miss something? Aside from saying "Yes, Boss", what exactly has she done over the last 8 years? (In fairness, I believe the same can be said for virtually all Lt. Governors, as that may be the position's exact job description.)

I hardly think it's "cool" to vote for someone who is going to continue to raise taxes on people who earn higher percentages of income, and redistribute it to state funded programs like Medicaid. Therefore, her party and her candidacy is off the table for voting consideration, as far as I am concerned.

While I disagree with your choice, I'm glad you listed reasons why you will vote for her. I hate it when people blindly vote Democrat or Republican and have no clue what the candidate is about.

I think the Republican candidates are anti-Rail Runner because it is operating at a bigger than expected loss. (I could be wrong, I heard that a while ago.)

I like the idea of the Rail Runner, but I still have never taken a ride on it. I don't commute and every time I've looked at taking it downtown on a weekend the times have never been convenient. Plus Rail Runner parking in Santa Fe seems to be a pain.

That is their right, not to be interfered by anyone. I did it a few times...

Not surprisingly, I tend to agree with your thoughts on this subject, Mike.

Just for clarification, I was merely referencing the original declaration made by Ms. Denish's supporter above:

I find fiscal responsibility to be fairly cool. On that basis, I think the closest thing we've had to a truly "cool" guv would have to be Richardson's predecessor Gary Johnson.

I do think she's cool lol. But I also like Gary Johnson. I'm not a fan of some of his financial viewpoints, but he wants to legalize pot and I am 100% in favor of that, so much so that I'd probably vote for him in 2012
