Do you know if either of these two lotteries use preferences?
Likely most importantly, Community Board preference. For lotteries that use the Community Board preference, and you qualify for the Community Board preference ANY lottery number becomes more likely to prevail.
A Community Board (CB) is a City district. If you life in the same CB as the lottery building and the lottery use a CB preference that helps you. Typically, 50% of the units go to CB residents, ahead of lower log#s without the CB preference.
130 AMI%, in general the higher the AMI the fewer the applicants. Are there other AMI% in the lottery? If so, that could help you because some of the lower log# might not qualify at 130% AMI.
Folks in 130 AMI can be better prepared to turndown units, and have less patience with all the bother and waiting in the lottery process and so this might contribute to higher attrition.
Good luck and good patience.
