I just got assigned log number 9,614 for a location in Manhattan as of 11/7/2016. I have no community preference and I'm not sure if this is a good log number because most of my log numbers are less than 20,000s. Still no response from the other log numbers below 20,000s, don't think I'll get selected! But I'll keep trying I guess!
I think that all applications that are submitted are assigned a lottery number and a certain number are randomly selected; if you are one of the lucky ones, you will be contacted (usually by mail). Good luck and keep trying.
I think you should remain positive; if you don't hear from them, it may mean that they send your file to the city. I recall being kept in the dark about this and not knowing what was happening and I know if you call they are not forthcoming with information which is very frustrating.
I wish you good luck; stay positive.
Thank you for your words, can you let me know if you had to go in and sign additional paper before it was sent to the city for approval?
I'm still waiting to hear back..I was rejected so I appealed and was granted the appeal. So now I'm just waiting to hear back. My log number is pretty low and I have a preference but It's not looking to good if three groups have already moved in : (
I just want to give you guys an update and thank you all for the information given here especially incaita, it was very helpful for me in this process..... I was called into the office to sign what seemed like a preliminary lease and agreement assuring that all information provided was true and accurate. It contained an apartment number with unit size. I was told it will be sent to the city for final approval so now I'm just waiting for their response. I pray everything is approved and finalized already. For those of you still dealing with this just know its a long process and requires a lot of patience.

Reason: Adding additional info
Update: Approximately 50% of 80/20 units have been assigned so for those waiting there is some hope! Also the amenities should be ready in January; we were given preliminary tours of the amenities space...it really is an exciting new concept.

Wow! That sounds amazing. I can't wait to get my response I've been waiting exactly one week. Hopefully I get good news.... Do you know if parking is offered to 80/20 tenants?

I am pretty sure you will get good news!! I don't know since I do not have a car but I assume that if parking is available that it would also be offered as the other amenities are to 80/20 tenants.
