For anyone who has gone through the appeal process, do you submit all documents that you previously submitted in the application including the documents used for the appeal? I was just wondering if I need to ask my employer for the employment verification and the letter he wrote explaining why my hours were reduced. He submitted them directly to the management BG.

I was also wondering when you wrote the appeal did you go into long details or just bullet point facts. I'm sure everyone has a difficult situation but does explaining that any help. Or is it better to not waste their time and explain in a paragraph or 2 why they shouldn't have denied the application.

Thank you in advance. I'm in the process, stressed and asking everyone their opinion.

Any thoughts about asking my employer for a copy of the 3 rd party employment verification to add to my appeal? Or are we not supposed to have that and know what our employer said?

Just sent in my 3 page, 15 attachment appeal to BG. Does anyone know the timeframe for a response? Do they confirm receipt? I keep wondering if appeals should be short. I quoted the handbook as often as possible .

I’m sure you did great. It sounds as if you were really thorough. The main thing is to show them that they made a mistake. Quoting the handbook is good! As far as I know, there is no timeframe for a response. YOU have a deadline, but THEY don’t. Such is life!

Thank you so much for the feedback and encouragement. I hope it works out. I'll keep everyone updated. But if I don't hear back by next Wednesday i'll give them a call or check up with them.

Do let us know what happens. I'd love to know how BG responds to a 3-page appeal. I'm not involved in the housing lotteries anymore, but still curious about how they work out for people. I like to follow the drama. It's like a serial.

Rejection overturned and FILE BACK IN PROCESS!!! Please god don’t let them find something else to reject me for!

Do they have to go through my paperwork again or does it go to hpd now?

Moving415, I'm glad you're continuing to post here! You are so smart, and your advice is always so helpful! Plus, you can really change someone's life by pointing an applicant in the right direction.

Congrats, Satyrical! I give you credit for persisting with this. It's so easy to get discouraged by this process. So many things can get bollixed up.
