Honestly after you receive your interview notice stay on top of them. At first I didn’t want to be annoying but I realize if you don’t constantly email these ppl they barely get back to you. Even to sign our lease and do our deposits we had to be reminding them. The unit is beautiful however the only disappointing part is not having a dining room area. But there’s a kitchen, living room is pretty big, one bathroom lots of closet space, yes it is hard wood floors and I think they could’ve done better with the laundry room by adding a few more machines.
No there’s not and since it’s two buildings (East & West) we got the west building and the gym is located in the East building. So for us to use it we have to walk over, but of course due to the virus it’s closed.
I have been following the thread but wasn't actively participating but wanted to jump in when I read that you had moved in! Big congrats to you and family!!! Curious as to the timeline from you first submitted the documents requested to move in. My log number is 8XX with city preference. I interviewed in Mid-March, then they wrote back March 30th requesting more paperwork which I sent in expeditiously. Reached out to them a month later and got two different responses: one said my application was in process and the other that there are still log numbers lower than mine waiting to be processed. Does this sound legitimate? I'd qualify for a one bedroom or studio by the way.

So considering my log # was this low and they only just got done with us it could be a possibility that maybe they have all your documents on file (which is good for when they reach your #) but they just haven’t reached your # as yet. And from what we’ve seen with both buildings there’s a lot of empty units, and some construction isn’t all the way done so don’t give up hope. Be annoying like me and email constantly lol

I always love reading your well thought out and detailed posts because it gives me such an idea of what to look forward to. When I passed by the building a few times, I did notice like you said construction is not all the way finished which also gives hope that they are still taking steps to fulfill the obligations of renting the building out. Like the community center still needs to be finished it seems. So far, I keep praying and praying. I know it’s a wait, though. Unwavering patience is so important for a process like this.

Yes I told them and showed them the paperwork for my son who is disabled. He’s not physically disabled so I wouldn’t get a preference for that but I just wanted to stress how his ability is challenging living in a homeless shelter because you can’t have company, very small space for the three of us in a small one bedroom, etc. Even though I might be taking the living room or share with my daughter in a two bedroom, what matters most is that he has his own bedroom as a 14 year old. I wished we could go back to the days where bedrooms were based on age where as after 7, a child has to get their own room. Now you have to share it with your children of the same sex. My daughter is turning 8 in September and she’s not too far from puberty so I would probably give her the other bedroom and try my best to make the living room convenient during the day and my bedroom at night.

Yes I definitely understand that concern because my current pregnancy is a boy and I did have my doctor mention that in hopes that we can have a 3 bedroom considering that we already have a girl but they still gave us 2 bedrooms. That’s why I still continue applying to other places in hopes for 3 rooms because I definitely agree that they need their own privacy. And if by the time our children hit the puberty age and we’re still not in a 3 bedroom apartment our goal is to go for a house. I hope something can be worked out for you because you seem as though you’re going through a lot and especially with the pandemic happening too you definitely deserve to be at some type of ease.

Hello did they tell you how many rooms you qualify for? You should get a three bedroom if your voucher amount cost it. I live in different lottery building the management company is C&C And I received a three bedroom when I moved in my kids were 12 and 9. From what I notice with lottery apartment and vouchers is if your voucher covers rent for different amount you can choose. Like for instance I had a choose btw 2 or 3 bedroom. Of course I choose the 3 bedroom due to my kids ages. I choose the apartment size but the housing specialist choose the floor and which apartment I would receive.

No they haven’t gotten back to me yet. I checked in with them two weeks ago and they’re still doing whatever it is that they’re doing like. So far my income is social security and the voucher. The voucher is 1580. So all together plus public assistance I just might qualify for a three bedroom. Do you think I will? Without public assistance, I’m close to 30 k a year so I don’t know. I really hope that a scenario like yours can apply to me. I’m so ready to move out already.
