We went to look at units on Saturday. We decided on turning it down, for two bedrooms there are only flex layouts available and there was a 50/50 chance of us getting it due to lower numbers coming first. The one bedroom would have been ours but we did not like what we saw. The building advertises balconies and terrace, none of the units have them. The roof top deck isn’t very big, yes there are views of manhattan but the neighborhood is not great. There was a shady person walking around the hallways which the agent didn’t acknowledge.
Amenities are I believe she said $10 or $20 a month per person in the household. Pool is paid for the season which is $700 per person in the household. Parking starts at $350 a month for a sedan, if you have a larger suv or truck it is more money.
We were told by the agent that we can be placed on a waitlist for an open plan two bedroom which we inquired. We were told by the leasing department that isn’t an option so we ended up turning it down.

Sucks they only have flex left for 2br. How come you didn't like the one bedroom? Was the floorplan or view bad?

I've lived at AW since February and this neighborhood is fine. It does take some adjustments if you're used to having multiple subway lines near you. I'm making it work with buses and the ferry on the weekends when the building shuttle to the N/W isn't running. I do agree that the flex layout apartment aren't great. I've heard from several people who took that layout and they don't really like it. I have a large one bed with an open floor plan and I'm really enjoying it here. I was log 31 though and probably got first pick.

I don’t remember the exact view for the one bedroom, but most of them had courtyard views except for one which had a street view. None faced the water. The 1 bedroom was on the 3rd floor and the 2 bedroom was on the 5th floor. The one bedroom was the bigger size of the 1 bedrooms they offer. I have a four year old so a one bedroom was not big enough space wise. Also the flex units did not have pantries but the open floor plans did. So the units were significantly different.
I know people just took what they had available but for 3200 a month it has to make sense.

Good luck to everyone.
You got lucky you had first dibs. The flex and open units were really different and I found it strange they were priced the same. The 2 bedroom flex we viewed at 2 baths but the open layout 2 bedroom they had for showing purposes was 2 bedroom 1 bath with larger closet space.
At this point whoever gets called is just stuck with whatever is remaining.
