Default Gentrification and Self-Indulgence

To people who are displaced by gentrification---the Yuppie stereotype represents the villain behind their disruption. Additionally, some intellectuals view the Yuppie as self-indulgent, self-important, energy wasting, over-consuming individualists, who often lose touch with the world condition. These are the two main reasons why they are hated by some people.

so if I move to NYC from Oklahoma, amke over 100,000 year and enjoy nice things and the arts im automaticlaly some horrible stuck up person?thats definetly not fair

There is over 8 Million people living in NYC, I wouldn't worry what anyone thinks about you in general, regardless of what you make. Besides, they will probably just be worrying about themselves and what they have to do.
