CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVISE....... I took the physical and passed everything except the blood work. My Iron was low. I received a letter to go to my doctor and have a physical along with repeat blood work done then aske the doctor to write a letter to clear my able to perform all duties of a sanitation worker which my doctor wrote and I sent in to Linda Naddeo before the deadline of September 30. I was taken off the driving class list because of this and I was told they would get in touch with me but nothing yet. Next week is the last driving course and Jimmy at the driving school will not book me without Medical calling him to clear me. I called the HR numbers that were given to me but they were not much help. They just told me to wait until I get another letter with a response. WHAT DO I DO??? I there anyone I can call??? Where do I call?? This opportunity means the world to me!!! Please help me out!!!

It means they can turn you down without giving you any reason.
It's a DCAS rule. The letter does state that you can be re certify
to the list solely at their discretion. This happened after the first
step of the hiring process(drug/alcohol/pre orientation). This is
from the MTA. I have heard about this before from promo exams
but this is the 1st time hearing about it from open competitive exams.

SECTION VII--CERTIFICATION OF ELIGIBLE LISTS AND SELECTION THEREFROM

4.7.1. General Provisions.

(a) The provisions of this section shall apply to the certification of eligible lists by the commissioner of citywide administrative services or, in the case of classes of positions unique to an agency, the certification of eligible lists for such classes by the agency head.

(b) Appointments or promotions shall be made from the established list most nearly appropriate for the position to be filled, as determined by the commissioner of citywide administrative services.

(c) Appointment or promotion from an established eligible list to a position in the competitive class shall be made by the selection of one of the three persons certified by the commissioner of citywide administrative services or the head of the certifying agency, as the case may be, as standing highest on such established list who are qualified and willing to accept such appointment or promotion. Where applicable, such selection shall be made as provided for in paragraph 4.4.12 of these rules.

(d) The rating of each eligible shall be stated in the certification.

(e) The agency head may review the examination application and records of each certified eligible at the office of the department of citywide administrative services.

December? I thought it was the Nov. class that they were supposedly putting on hold...still keepin my fingers crossed, even though they mayor is a complete jacka$$...

So basically I'm just out of luck.
There is no one I can call or talk to?
It says I'm still on the list for 6063.
The last driving class is next week.
I'm desperate!!!!
There has to be something I can do or someone I can call!!!
I was supposed to be in the FB classes on 10/17/2011 but was taken off because they received the message that I was not cleared yet as of 10/05/2011
