Silly people look an an immigrant in the USA and fail to put themj in perspective. Asian and subSaharan immigrants are way more educated than those who they6 leave behind. This being especially true for Africa and South Asia. So to make comments w/o considering thes efacts looks quite foolish.
It's a good sign that you identify yourself as an american. I know many Dominicans and even 3rd generation Ricans who are still "holding on" to their home country sometimes way too much. On some level and in some cases they refuse to assimilate themeselves to american culture which sometimes holds them back to fully make it in this country.
What do you say about Jewish AMERICANS who hold on to Israel and who also demand that this should determine US foreign policy? Most have never lived there and many have never been there.
I don't think they will. I think they will simply import people. Keep in mind Romney's comment that he wants to encourage "the best and brightest" to immigrate to America. Is this not what the powers-that-be have encouraged in New York ?
Of course, he did not define what he meant by "best and brightest." My guess is, "people who think like me ..." Or who do not, in any case, pose a challenge to such.

Jews have been in what is now the USA since the 1490s & early 1500s. So we have to take into consideration that the Jewish cultural & historical experiences & different nuances with which the Jewish diaspora encompasses & is ensconced in!

There's a lot of poor African and South Asian immigrants in the US itself. And in the corporate world Africans and South Asians are extremely rare. Unless the African or Indian has a degree from Harvard or another top university they will not deal with them in the corporate world, with the exception of a few rock bottom programming jobs (and I wonder how this is working out with Microsoft, IBM, Cisco all having huge layoffs).
