It's much too late for that - those parcels of land have been done and dusted for a very long time, there is much too much money invested for any of the developers to walk away!
(Hint: the "new" billboard replacing the maligned and vandalized Piano District one? I wonder, who could be an investor in that company?? There was much celebration about the change, but seems many people didn't go too far below the surface! )

What were they going to do with the Kingsbridge Armory? Unless they turn it into a factory that will employ people that already live in the vicinity it is not a revival.

What we need in the Bronx is decent shopping, restobars and entertainment. A Trader Joes/WholeFoods/farmers market type place kind of like Chelsea Food Mart.

Kings bridge Avenue corridor does not have the income level support the amenities that neighborhoods like Chelsea have. The skating rink is a good idea, however do folks in the area ice skate? No. My best bet is for the area to be converted into an entertaining center. Converted into a college campus.

So it says that in Oct. 2014 plans solidified to turn the Armory into a big skating rink/Sports/Entertainment center.
Do people in the area skate? It doesn't matter people from all over come to the Bronx for the Bronx Zoo, New York Botantical Garden, and Yankee Stadium.
Basically the idea is to put more amenities in the Bronx to make it more livable for people with more money.

It is far too late. Not only has the land been purchased, funds have been raised and permits have been issued.
A number of companies have relocated to the Bronx because it has the cheapest real estate in NYC. Just pointing out not all of the new investment is for residential purposes.
Who the FU*K ice skates in the Bronx? I don't like the idea. Raze the site. They're gonna mess around and turn it into a refuge for the homeless.
