"Bronxguyanese Army is doing a good job with relief efforfs, Bloomberg is an idiot for saying residents dont want to see soldiers they wanna see police officers during a crisis like this."

Bloomberg seems surprisingly tentative and fearful. Yeah, the soldiers were sort of scarey in airports etc after 9/11 when we weren't used to that but now with all the country's been through ... and all most people's experience with soldiers as family, neighbors and friends...they are a comfort. (I say tentative because he really should have never had so many take so much time even setting up for the marathon. He should have cancelled it right off. Any time or any item used for the marathon was, at that point in time, and at this point in time, an item or time taken away from those in need.)

one thing that's still a shock to me is when an NBC reporter asked Bloomberg about FEMA contacting him 2 days before landfall, asking if New York City needed extra help Bloomberg said something like nah I think we're good. not in those exact words of course - but he was very defensive when the reporter asked him about why he said that to FEMA

There's no defending Bloomberg. He's a fool and has more than likely caused deaths because of his lack of action prior to the storm. Bloomberg DOES NOT CARE about people who don't live in Manhattan, hell UPPER Manhattan at that.

We earned this comeuppance. Not the hurricane, but our collective foolishness in having elected him three times.

Well lets see, you've got a mob of 60 people breaking into a pharmacy to take food and medicine that they need to survive (petty property crimes) and you've got two policeman with limited resources available to them. What are they supposed to do, arrest and tie them to a lamp post? Or arrest two people at a time and drive them down to the lock up, if they can even get through the streets to get there.

It is more important in situations like this for the police to protect lives and assist with rescue efforts, forget about the petty property crimes.

No surprise that pretty much every other line has some sort of service except for the G line. What gives? Even when this train was running, it barely was, and now it will be dead last to get some kind of service. Why does the MTA hate the G line so much??
