It shouldn't even matter if you feel rich. It's your money. You worked for it. Enough with people coveting and being jealous and wanting to take what you have. Enough with some pulling the cart and the others being carried along.

And 500,000 a year is not 500,000. After NYC income tax, NYS income tax and federal tax it is about 300,000. The more you make the more you spend, often just to make the money in the first place. You need an apartment close to work and in manhattan good apartments are expensive.

Maybe he is too busy earning a living and being productive instead of mastering the Internet forum.

Absolutely true. Parents now encouraged to drop off their kids full time and not spend the best years with them. Parents and kids miss out on their childhood.

I said barely. And yes, the typical $500k household can barely afford to buy the average apartment.

Your envy is clouding your brain.

Because he's a troll. His claimed income of 500k is a suspiciously even amount.

Hm. $300,000 *posttax* a year household income is enough to live great in Manhattan with a mortgage on a brownstone and 2 kids in private education.

I don't have an envious bone in my body. As hard as it is for most to believe, money means nothing to some people, although being comfortable myself, that's easy for me to say.

I get far more out of a few hours in the woods than most 1%'ers would out of $50,000. I value my free time more than anything else.
