If you get a call letter to a hiring pool, consider calling the union to let them know so they will send a rep. At one hiring pool, an additional position became open and the agency wanted to do both positions instead of the 1 originally opened. Agency told us if we don't interview for the 2nd position, we will be marked CNS. Union rep complained and the agency finally agreed NO CNS if we decide not to interview for the 2nd position. The position required a driver license which I didn't have so I would've gotten a CNS if the union rep wasn't there. Union isn't aware of all the hiring pools.

I have an hiring pool for 1-16-20 for ACS, anyone else get a letter?
Yeah I got it, but it’s really weird. I have friends who are just a little ahead and just little behind, both on outstanding certification, who did not get a letter ...

I wonder how many people will get the letters after the fact. USPS in NYC can take its time. Meter stamp on my letter says January 2, and I got it January 10.
DCAS should switch to electronic (email) communication format for interview invites. That’s how private companies do it. And it’ll give candidates more time to prepare or make arrangements to take the time off.

I think DCAS is required to send it by mail, but it is their option to send it by email as well.
Off topic here, but does anyone know any scholarships that I can apply for? I am going to grad school for an MPA degree but I have no clue on where to find scholarships since I never applied for one. I would really appreciate any guidance.

There is a mayor scholarship offer every year, but for 2020, I think the deadline passed. You have to wait till November or December to find out more information.
If hired off the civil list, is health insurance effective on day 1?
