I been with DC 37 before, they are actually helpful. I used their attorney to draft my will, and the title I used to have allow me to have the service for free, and free drug prescription included.
The one that I don’t like is the OSAUnion. When I first started as a provisional staff analyst trainee and not knowing anything about civil servant, I went to the union and seek for help, but the lady name Sheila from the union said, “you will be out on the street without a job”. At first I’m like woah....you don’t need to tell me that. If you want to be helpful, tell me everything I need to know, but instead she make me feel worthless. Ever since then, I know this union is not on my side personally.
During my most desperate time, I didn’t get any encouragement or support, and I learned all about it myself by walking through all kind of difficult paths, so that’s why I’m so proactive on this forum to help other people out and make sure no one ever feel like how I felt back then.
I got offered the Staff Analyst position yesterday at the pool and was told they will call me with the processing date. I thought usually they let you know when you need to come back when you get your processing package. Apparently not. Lol. Guess it’s a waiting game now.

Yea, a number of things have to happen before they can even offer you a start date. Sometime they don’t know how long the wait would be, and that’s not anyone fault, is the way how the system is put in place. While you wait, make sure you have a job to take care of yourself.
I was in the December ACS pool. They sent me a link with online forms about 2 -3 days after the pool. About two weeks later, I got a call from ACS HR with appointment to go in for processing. Look out for missed calls on your phone, because they may not leave a message.

Wow...not leaving a voicemail if you don’t pick up? That’s totally unacceptable in my opinion.

Not a lot of people showed up. There were no more then 20 ppl or so, for 5 positions. They let us go before lunch. My guess the list would move a lot after this one, people would get kicked out, and it will take some time for restoration.
