When signing my lease, I was told that it was a no smoking building, including inside your own apartment. And if I suspected someone was smoking, I should report it to management immediately.

A dozen people on your floor will notice that. You could complain to the front desk to have it stopped. I really don't think they would know who complained.

Exactly, DTroT, and I felt at ease with that clause when I signed my lease. You know, I really don't give two craps about what people do in their apartments, but when it starts interfering with my sanity/peace of mind, there's a huge problem. I'm not paying $3300 to not be happy in my own place.

My floor has at least 3 families with small children, so I'm sure they've noticed. I'm not sure they complained about it to the front desk like we did. After all, it was just today (the offending tenants moved in yesterday). That said, we did complain to the front desk and soon, there were two staff members standing outside of the offending tenant's apartment. We heard them scram. The walls are too thin.

It's troubling to think that someone, after receiving such a wonderful opportunity, would immediately start breaking the rules....especially a rule that negatively impacts everyone. Selfish and ungrateful.

I'm glad you reported it immediately !! I would prefer people not to smoke anything due to falling asleep/passing out and starting a fire.

I was in the lobby when the complaints were being called into the front desk around 7pm. Someone on 21 threatened to call the cops and the maintenance guys were seriously discussing the best way to handle. Rest assured that the staff was dealing with it. Apparently some other neighbor on 21 decided to Febreeze the hallways to help dissipate the smell but instead made the scent even worse! This has sort of been the talk of the town tonight...

Yes. I assume you mean the account guy from Verizon? He's great. Mohammed (646) 207-8186.

Complaints? There were more than one? I guess other people did notice and complained. Good. Yea, I did notice the smells clash. Fortunately, it didn't last for long.

This is the kind of person I want to live on my floor. Someone that respects the rules.
