Weren't you also considering Sanders? The guy, if elected, would have brought the entire system down. No one in their right mind would lend Bernie money. They've been correctly identified as nothing more than a bunch of violent trouble makers. MLK is rolling over in his grave at those losers. It's run by a bunch of intolerant "kill whitey" types.
Americans won't stop doing drugs and Mexico isn't becoming English speaking. The US can't socially engineer itself, how can it socially engineer another country?
People are going to do what they are going to do. Prohibition didn't work and telling people not to have sex through religious persecution doesn't work either. I don't think recreational drug use is significantly higher in the US than it is in any other western society, but our reaction to it is idiotic and a waste of energy. The country's Puritan roots still get in the way I think.
Trump's ICE Raids in NYC and nationally have begun. I have heard reports that ICE last night nabbed people on Roosevelt Avenue, Jackson Heights. Clearly Queens real estate is going to take a hit, and the same for Upper Manhattan,the Bronx, and South Brooklyn.
It will bring supply up, and that will be downwards driving force on RE prices. Of course it depends on many factors too. But the law is the law.
