No. Any gains would have been offset by the losses in housing and transit.

Amazon should have chose Brooklyn. Less outrage and smarter politicians

Outsiders??? Brooklyn?????

There have been long-standing concerns about corporate giveaways, not the least of which come from economists and Bloomberg himself.

STOP IT WITH THE F.U.D.

Congrats!!!! NYC just lost 25,000 Amazon jobs that would of paid $150,000 a year. Way to go Socialist Democrats!

You want everyone on the government tit. First socialism, then it graduates to communism. The socialist Democrats are taking over the Democratic party.

How stupid do you have to be to not realize that "your money or your life" is NOT a choice????

How stupid do you have to be to antagonize people such as Gianaris who were originally for you???????

Even De Blaz was miffed at the arrogant rich boys petulantly sulking away jsut bcause of a little neighborhood democracy!!

I'm skeptical of unions, same as I am of cops, but they are invaluable institutions in modern society.

So says Amazon. Why should anyone believe them?????

Why don't you believe economists who are almost all against corporate giveaways????????

Why don't you believe Mike Bloomberg, who is also against this?????????????

You should be more concerned about the cognitive decline in people who think they're so smart paying a multi-billion-dollar business that already doesn't pay federal taxes the full asking price!!!

Did you not read at all what I wrote? Amazon made clear in their search criteria that there are a number of factors involved in their decision. It's a balance of all the factors.

All these high paying jobs is a laugh, they would all go to your Midwesterners trying to live the dream by moving to NYC paying an arm an a leg for a closet just to say they live here.

300 billion dollars in tax incentives that's like welfare on corporate crack, yet most of you on here get mad when someone buys lobster with food stamps at the grocery store...

And they had the nerve to ask for their own transit system, buy you'll get mad because immigrants are taking space in our own decrepit subway system..

This is handouts at the hyper billion dollar level...

Think a web based super Walmart, everything is all in house from warehousing to delivery. They would have no competition, push all small businesses out of business, no incentive to keep wages competitive, how would this be good for the average worker or New Yorker again?

The idiots here deserve to be lined up against the wall and shot in case of Revolution. That's the only way to move forward.

Despite economists saying that corporate giveaways don't work -- despite even Mike Bloomberg saying Amazon doesn't deserve such largess -- the idiots here will keep parroting Bozo Bezos' sales brochure while calling other people names.

Why not? Though he's most likely referring to stuff like janitorial, concessions, etc. -- what's wrong with unionizing so-called white-collared workers?

Hell, your multi-million-dollar actors and actresses are union, too...so what??
