This is a pretty sad story to see a young woman lose her life in such a horrific manner. For once I'll agree with Mayor in saying that the PBA President's comments about her marijuana purchase are heartless and does not change things.

It was the SBA President and it does change things IMO...going into a park, at night to buy drugs--especially for a woman is never a good idea. Yes she has every right to walk in a back alley at 3am with a short skirt on, but it's probably not a good idea.

No it doesn't change anything. I don't even think she was killed by whoever she bought weed from.

You guys are heartless and just love victim blaming
It's not like she went into an alley at 3AM, she was at a dmall park next to her school at 7PM, and there's no proof she was even buying weed. Which in no way justifies her death anyway.

No, it does not change things at all, unless she was killed by the people she was trying to buy drugs from, which would make it a drug deal gone bad.

She had every right to be in that park without being attacked and killed, just like we all have every right to be out and about in NYC without being harassed, attacked, raped, killed etc.

Weed is so easy to come by these days that I doubt she would even be buying from a group of random middle schoolers. And even if she did by from them, she has the right to not be killed like you said. There's an obsession with misogyny and victim blaming on this board.

You're right, but I don't think they were trying to justify it.
They were trying to explain it. And maybe they have......

Ya play with "doo-doo", ya gonna get some on you.

Especially when you are warned about it. A park in which the schools warned the students not to go into after dark. A park that has two campus police kiosk for their protection.

He was making a point about broken windows policing. He wasn’t victim blaming. He also wasn’t the person who broke the info. He was asked about it.

That makes more sense. I agree, bring back broken windows policing.
