What makes you say that you can "fly cheek to cheek"? I haven't flown, but from what everyone on forums like Travel have said, there has been spaced seating for some time. Did that change?
Someone I work with flew for vacation two weeks ago. She said planes were full.
Restaurants should just close up for good. Let the city rot.
I hope more of these great eateries make it out the city. Sucks for the walking crowd of Manhattan, but I’d love to actually drive to restaurant and seek out great spots, outside the city .
Just had an awesome meal in a NJ restaurant right over the bridge. All these fools are doing is shifting our money elsewhere. Fine by me, the service is better anyway!
Summer and fall were great on LI we went out 2-3 times enjoying inside seating.
The real question is why are restaurants being closed in NYC but being allowed to stay open in countless mid Hudson, upstate and Buffalo area counties where the covid infection rate is way higher than NYC. Manhattan( @2.5%) has one of the lowest infection rates in the whole state! Rest of the boroughs except Staten Island are under 5%.... Madison County is 14.1% and others upstate are well into the double digits as well.
The only part of NYC that has had a real problem lately is Staten Island where the numbers are much higher than they are anywhere else in the city. So why the whole city? Shoulda just closed Staten Island down since that has been the real problem.
Or maybe he is just too chicken to close only S.I. There would be too much pushback.
Restaurants are closed to indoor dining in Buffalo, and have been since the area went Orange several weeks ago.
Good question! He knows that restaurants and bars are not responsible for the spread of COVID - the data is is all there! The virus is spreading in people’s private homes, but since he can’t control what people do in their private lives, he decides to close restaurants! That way, he lets people think that he’s doing “something positive” to control the spread of the virus. So when he attempts to run for office again, or even the presidency, he’ll still get votes, while he risks a small percentage of them - restaurant owners.
Except everyone in their households knows what an ape he is. We all know that he is ruining lives and businesses. But guess what.
Cuomo takes his cut of the business. The remainder of it goes to you. That remainder is still much larger here than anywhere else in the country except Cali where this Ponzi scheme also happens.
Since your cut is big too, you sit their quietly for twenty years reaping the cash flow knowing this man will ruin your life. The people who are here, know this. We don’t suffer the most. You know who suffers? The people who don’t have property, the people who live in apartment buildings, the people who take less in come than they spend, the people who come here to NY because of “attractions”, city life, etc.
Those new people, hippies or whatever you may call them, for example have a problem with crime in the city, and react to bad laws. The rest of us don’t care if there is crime or bad laws because we are here to make money and that’s it. Don’t want crime? Don’t buy a house in hood. Make sure your real estate agents don’t sel homes in white areas to hood people. This involves sexism racism etc. we all know that. We signed the “agreement”.
The coronavirus thing just highlights the problem hat always existed and the people complaining here online are phablet realizing the problems just know and i only wish we took their internet privileges away because it’s getting annoying to hear their whining.
No shyt, restaurants closed, riots happening, what did you expect this place to be, Disneyland? Taxes going up because fk you.
