Imagine people stop wasting money on useless dining out, cooking at home, saving money, paying off cc debt and having actual savings for property purchases??
I know I know. Hard to imagine. Life just wouldn’t be worth living now would it.
Dude, you think indoor dining ban will all of a sudden magically repair the masses bad financial habits? Theyll dress up and take their social media pictures elsewhere.

I was just brain storming. You can’t fix consumerism. Or can you ?
The elites in this world are trying to kill off as many of us as possible to "save the planet". Makes sense, take away our jobs and business, stay home and starve or get the Covid and die that way.

I'm sure that applies to a decent number of people, but that's their problem. Those of us who aren't rich, but are well diversified with investments, incoming salary, zero debt and not interested in clothes/traveling/wasteful entertainment would like to enjoy our dining our again.
In my case we just moved it to another state. We're meeting my cousin for dinner this afternoon in fact.
I'm glad for the people who moved out of state for the betterment of their lives. There's going to be a lot of changes going around, and those that can accept it or deal with it will go and the people who can will stay or move in.
Dave 92 LSC has a good point there about focusing on your finance.
I wont speak for Cuomo, but for Deblasio I believe deep down many within the far left circles he seems to listen to believe restaurants, like art galleries and live music, are gentrification drivers, not to mention a sign of borgeouis values. I believe the idea is to piledrive the restaurant industry so as to lower NYC's appeal to the monied classes and thus stop gentrification.
Hmm...but doesn't gentrification raise prices on everything? Don't we want prices lower? Lol.
