LOL I want some of that good stuff you've been smoking. When did we as kids get such incentives for good grades? I'm sure you're not that old either, so you remember those times. These kids are spoiled brats. Nothing more.
I'm always happy to explore racism if that's the case, regardless of who the victims are. I think this was a case of these kids thinking that they own the streets, and how DARE anyone disturb them. They want to do what they want, and that's that.
Oh I am not saying it was a case of racism, and I am sure it was not one, and just like you said, a bunch of entitled kids with no manners, but I believe what our friend was trying to say was, if it were the opposite, hate crime would have been investigated, and racism automatically assumed, even if it was not the case... But I doubt in this case it was racism.
If the Driver hit them then this guy would have had an immediate press conference calling the kids "Innocent kids out for a bike ride" and Sharpton would have held rallies by this weekend.
And then we'd get a new SJW hashtag slogan -- "#Bike Lives Matter"
Don't you remember? Bloomberg tried that. Cash for parents and cash for kids. That program silently disappeared.
Ive known some disadvantaged families whose children have not been thugs and studied and got good grades. I suspect its because they had parents of good character that cared about how their children presented themselves and how they spent their time.
Ive known some affluent families whose children went on to become criminals regardless of having all the monetary advantages in life. I suspect that might be because those kids had parents who really didnt have time for them, and just like a basset hound - if they cant get your attention by being good, they will try to get it by being bad.
I think we need to stop accepting excuses from people as to why they aren't doing the right things. Maybe we need to teach all kids to love themselves. Logically, if you love yourself, you arent going to do things to hurt yourself, or screw up the rest of your life because you didnt have sense enough to care about yourself.
If we believe money cant buy love, and money cant buy happiness, why on Earth would anyone think money can buy a productive human?
The biggest problem I see, with adults and kids today, is that noone thinks about consequences. There are no consequences when excuses prove to be acceptable.
I personally felt I had very good reasons for quitting college and never going back, then I read about a crack addicted boarder baby that grew up homeless, living in shelters, but pushed on and academically secured a PhD and I had to accept the fact that my reasons for quitting school were just excuses.
I enjoy the benefits of the castle doctrine in my neck of the woods. Had this happened to me there would be blood in the streets and it wouldn’t be mine...
