Are New Yorkers not ready to take off their masks? (buy, gym)

Since Cuomo followed the new CDC guidelines and allowed the vaccinated not to wear masks outdoors and indoors in most settings, I notice that a lot of people are still wearing masks outside and almost all stores still require them upon entry. Are New Yorkers not ready to transition to some form of normality?

I was at a deli yesterday in Staten Island with no mask. Felt so good.

I was at Trader Joes yesterday everyone still had their masks on.

I just walk in no mask. No one has said anything. Most stores by me have dropped the mask signs. They want people in there shopping. Making $$$$

I carry a mask with me, but don't wear it while outside walking around.

It's a mixed bag of people. Whatever,. they can do what they like.

If I go into a store I put it on, mostly because I am too lazy to bother checking if they care or not. I don't need some Karen on me.

In the gym about half the people are working out maskless (including me). Feels good to be getting rid of the thing.

I carry the mask with me.
I'm done wearing a freaking mask already, it is summer, and I cant breathe with it on, it is annoying already, and it is time to get the world back to normal again.

I think some people will choose to wear a mask so as to not buy a $10 lipstick.
