In fairness early on this was a legitimate fear. It was better to be safe than sorry with that ship. We knew almost nothing about covid then.
2 years later it's comical for him to talk about covid overwhelming hospitals.
Regardless of how you look at it, why even brush it off and think it's ok to get sick? Why don't we all just remain vigilant now and stop the spread so we can wipe this virus away once and for all? And yes, we CAN do this. If we don't give this virus any place to go, there's no way it would spread.
If we wore masks, social distanced, and stayed home as much as possible TEMPORARILY (not a life sentence, mind you), I can't imagine how this virus would continue spreading.
[quote=TheWiseShopper;63445810]Yeah, my mom always wears goggles in addition to wearing THREE masks, one surgical, one KN95 and one N95... one on top of the other. She also always wears medical gloves too. I really admire how cautious she is. If only everyone did what she did, we'd be long over Covid by now and back to normality.
Jeez, your mom wears 3 masks, how does she breath?

This is why if you ever tell my mom that you don't wear a mask because you can't breathe, she will go nuts on you! She says if she can breath with 3 masks, then people can certainly breathe wearing one mask!

If that is true the poster's whole family is ____________.

Well my mom is not vaccinated nor boosted and goes out way more than I do since she's always running errands, and she has never caught Covid. She has three siblings all of whom caught it, but not her! So she's definitely doing something right.
The central problem is that the coronavirus has become more adept at reinfecting people. Already, those infected with the first Omicron variant are reporting second infections with the newer versions of the variant — BA.2 or BA2.12.1 in the United States, or BA.4 and BA.5 in South Africa.
Those people may go on to have third or fourth infections, even within this year, researchers said in interviews. And some small fraction may have symptoms that persist for months or years, a condition known as long Covid.
Personally, I don’t care if I get infected with COVID. To me, it’s a common cold if not less than a common cold. People sweep the real problem under the rug (not engaging in physical activity, eating real foods, and keeping their vitamins D3, C and zinc up). They stupidly prefer to wear a hundred masks and get quadruple boosted. It’s mind blowing, really.
You may think it feels nice not wearing a mask on your face, but for me, it feels even nicer not getting sick and being in bed with head congestion, runny nose and coughing.

Well that's because the virus is still roaming around in the entire globe; not just China. We've already unleashed the virus all over the world and it's already out of control. So now that we let it get this bad, we now need to get EVERYONE ALL OVER THE WORLD to stay vigilant, wear masks, social distance and stay home as much as possible. Now the question is, how do we get all 7.9 billion people to do that?

You're not living in reality
People can't sit home with the world shut down forever
Temporarily? We're going past 2 years of this.
If we banned driving nobody would die in car accidents either.
