D.A. Morgenthau used to say he could "indict a ham sandwich."

again , it was a jury of his peers that found enough wrong in this self defense plea to bring an indictment

His peers are not random New Yorkers but fellow Marines.

All of this could have been avoided if Police were allowed to do their jobs in the first place.
To serve and protect so that we, the public, wouldn't.

Shame on the Democratic modus operandi complex.

That's a fallacy based on the Supreme Court. The justices ruled that police do not have constitutional duty to protect a person from harm.

A grand jury does not decide whether a person is not guilty or guilty. The grand jury reviews the evidence and decides whether the State has enough evidence to charge someone with a crime. It is far less exacting standard from beyond a reasonable doubt and all evidence, facts, and cross examinations allowed at trial are not present. Hence the ease of securing an indictment via grand jury.

they need to find enough evidence that there is reason to bring the case to trial , which they did.

when it’s an open and shut case of self defense there will be no indictments..

when it is more complex and does not meet the letter of the law like here , it goes to a jury to sort the facts and laws and decide

Case is pretty much open and shut as far as I'm concerned

If the Marine got choked first, then I could understand getting choked back in retaliation

So my question is what happened to the Marine first?
