I miss a good (pressed) Cuban sandwich. We always looked forward to them when in FL (don't go there much these days...). My favs were from a little deli store at a no-name gas station near Temple Terrace (IIRC). I wouldn't use their 'no brand' gas, but loved those 'real' Cubans to go.
I had to look up Cuban sandwiches and I got no help from Google in our area. There is a good chance that I never had a good one since I cannot find one now. The places that do pop up do not have them listed on their menus.

It is like my quest to find a good 'grinder' in my area. You make a great sandwich or hoagie and customers will flock to your doors. We have many small restaurants and delis that never truly offer anything great. Then they wonder why their customers fall off.

Yes, a true Cuban sandwich MUST be pressed or it is only a hoagie, etc. When I worked in public school in Florida, the cafeteria staff made them from scratch, and pressed. You could smell the pork cooking throughout the school. Delicious.

Then there was the "fight" between Miami and Tampa over whose was the real Cuban; with salami or not. I preferred the Tampa version without.

Similar to do you put peppers on a cheese steak? I like mine with the peppers.

El Ricon Caribe in Tannserville does an amazing Cuban. Pressed as it should be.

Sounds great. Do they have outdoor seating? It would probably be cold by the time we drove home to Tobyhanna. If not, will keep in mind for future.

Warm is sorta 'special' ...but room temp after the drive is better than cold if it's a good one.

Here's a site A Cuban or a Cubano with some sandwiches that look good enough to taste (and a link about reheating them that I didn't follow right now). There are probably as many sites, 'secrets' and recipes as for pizza or pirohi.

Nice day today so decided to try going shopping. Went to Target looking for clothes hamper. Nothing. Shelves almost empty in the home goods section. Why?? TJ Maxx still closed until Thursday. Called Yankee Candle before going to Crossings Outlet. No answer. Waste of time.

Quest for lunch on way home. Surprising how many fast food places in Poconos don't have outdoor seating. Ended up back in Mt. Pocono at Sherry's Place Food Truck. Got a cheese steak and sat at one of their two picnic tables. While people were keeping distance on the line, not all customers were wearing masks. At least got cheese steak which haven't had in long time. Salvation Army Store in same parking lot was opened. Have stuff I need to donate.

They only have take out right now. I don’t think they have a space for outdoor seating.

They have a small indoor dining room. But take out is presently available, it’s what’s for dinner tonight. Too hot to cook.
