The other day they did almost back-to-back episodes on NOVA and DC. They showed the Redskins gal again and then a couple in DC looking for a place in NOVA - they showed an older place in what looked like Oldtown, and one that might have been Del Ray and then one of the Townhouses that face Eishenhower - looking onto Cameron Run and 495.

They went with older place that might have been Old town.

It was nice to see that both shows had normal budgets - ~ $400K or something, and they weren't upset at the type of house that gets you here. Realistic. Some of the shows have people on a $150K budget - complaining about not getting granite and soaking tubs, and decks and pools, etc.

And then again I cry because in some places you do get all that for $150K!

Question I have - does that place on Eishenhower classify as water front.

Maybe if you stand on your roof. Thanks for sharing!

Only if we get a ton of rain again and Cameron Run overflows!

Tonight's episode featured an engaged 24YO couple looking at townhouses for around $300K. They looked at one place in Ashburn and two in Fairfax City.

I caught the Redskins cheerleader one On Demand. We actually toured the Herndon house during our househunt in summer 2011 -super small and the pool took up the entire yard, plus it was on a pipestem and was walkable to nothing. I was bugged that they took her there because it was absolutely nowhere near her original search area. OTOH, it was pretty cool to see a house on TV that we had seen IRL.

Now I know there's some odd shenanigans that go on with House Hunters (e.g. they've already decided on their place prior to filming, the other houses are not on the market, etc.), but sales records indicate that this couple did not purchase the house - someone else did a month ago. Perhaps it was his mom or something, but if so it's solely in her name.

At the end of the episode, they said the kitchen was so repulsive they haven't used it and have been eating out instead. That said, I suspect these two sold the place already. After all, how can anyone, ANYONE, live with a dated kitchen?????

That's odd even for House Hunters. I accept that the fact that the show isn't in "real time" but there have been other shows where parents chipped in. Very strange indeed.
