Should give Missouri a shot. Missouri is a far right state where Trump won by 18 points. the MO house is 117 to 44 and 25-7 Republican in the senate currently AND their gun laws are much better than Oklahoma. In Missouri you don't need a ccw permit to carry a concealed firearm anymore! Out of 114 counties Clinton only won THREE counties and St. Louis city.

Everyone has a different experience living ANYWHERE in the US or in the world I'm just sharing MY personal experience and views of Oklahoma, THAT'S ALL !! As most people in that dump of state don't like to talk about, ("Sweeps the dirt under the rug") and put a nice flower pot over it

Just like you I have lived in SF, Seattle, Chicago. ALL those cities have there issues, But NONE compare to the "STOOPID" B.S I saw and dealt with in Oklahoma !!! It takes the CAKE in B.S !!!

My point and goal is to HELP people not make the same mistake of living in Oklahoma like I did.
NO human being should go through the same horrors I did "prison sentence" of living Oklahoma

Lol you need to calm down. I've had no such experience that you've had to make your (exaggerated and troll-ish) assessment while living in Oklahoma and OKC. The state is not a dump to me. And there are dozens of major cities that have a higher crime rate than OKC.

When I lived in Norman 10 years ago, my SUV was stolen by drug addicts

Never in my life have I lived in a city were even the NORTH side can be dangerous !!!, Caugh Caugh 122ND/PENN

I have lived in Los Angles, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco and NEVER a victim of crime in those cities!!!
Just only in Oklahoma
You make me glad I haven't lived in a different state, so I can remain innocent of what is better and nicer than Oklahoma. However, vacationing in some of the states, such as Colorado, at least gave me a good idea how much more scenic the world can be.

I would say there are three cities that may be the (New Upcoming Austin Texas.).

Drum roll please , and they are in order

1. Asheville North Carolina

2. Raleigh North Carolina

3 . Tucson Arizona

Free thinkers , very strong art communities , strong University towns pushing a very Progressive agenda.
Golly, someone who has clearly demonstrated they've traveled outside their own zip code.

That is a very good list.

Solid selections, each and every one of 'em. I just got off an extended roadie and spent time in each place (Disclaimer: I do own a place in Raleigh) and your list's comparisons to Austin are not outlandish, unlike OKC. A case could be made for putting Albuquerque in there as well.

Maybe OP was mistaking Austin for Houston? Both have their fill of Oil & Gas bros tossing a mid-priced Porsche or over accessorized dulely F-150's around the freeway that it would be an easy mistake to make.

Austin has water issues, does OKC? That's enough to keep me away.

Austin is over priced due to restraining supply while demand soars, does okc too? That's enough to keep me away

Austin has a liberal bent to its local gov, does okc too? Thas enough to keep me away.

Why are you insulting okc op?

Saw an ad that says it all here in Plano today, Austin Ranch is a planned community here. Claims its "Austin without the weird"

Very insightful post Albuquerque New Mexico is definitely a city that should be on the list....

However I would have to redo the list and put El Paso Texas as the number one city most likely to be a up-and-coming Austin Texas.

1. El Paso Texas
2. Asheville South Carolina
3. Raleigh North Carolina
4. Tucson Arizona/ALB New Mexico
5. Sacramento California
6. San Jose California
7. Reno Nevada
8. San Antonio Texas

And Two Purple Cities to round off the list as a top 10 list....

9. Fort Worth Texas
10. San Diego California

(PS) Folks say that Portland Oregon and Austin Texas are the only cities in the class of Elite Hipster White (BOOM) cities.....
