What I don't like about Omaha is that this town has no identity. It is always trying to copy some others city's thunder.

The only thing Omaha can call it's own is the Runza.....Meal in a bunza.

Likes:

1. Big enough so not everyone knows your business. But small enough to recognize people while you are out and about.

2. My immediate family lives here. I like to be close to them.

3. It's relatively safe as long as you aren't involved in gangs and/or drugs.

4. We have a great zoo.

5. There are other community activities around the city that are fun to checkout. Some neat places to visit and places to eat.

Dislikes

1. Proximity of the beach and the winters.

2. Mismanagement of the city's budget/resources.

3. The drivers

Well, you all certainly offer some chuckles - between talk of Runza (I never understood the craze either) and hookers. But seriously, are there not more positives???

I don't live in Omaha anymore, but growing up there having lived there for 18 years I feel like I can respond:

Likes:
-The zoo
-The Old Market area is nice
-easy to get around (if you have a car)
-safe
-Omaha has weathered the economic downturn very well, has a low unemployment rate and it's cheap to live there.

Dislikes:
-lack of public transportation
-the city past 72nd street isn't very attractive in my opinion....
-the weather
-Husker fans (sorry, I went to KU)
-lack of culture (but it's getting better!)
-lack of professional sports teams

Lack of professional sport teams?! Come on! Omaha is addressing that with the Nighthawks. They're going to be a UFL dynasty for sure if an Ohio judge will allow the Nighthawks the possibility of picking up former Ohio State superstar and convicted felon Maruice Clarette.

Same here, except I actually like Omaha's weather. After almost a decade in Florida, I really miss having seasons.
