I'm as white as one can get, and my wife of 25 years is Mexican. Until recently, we lived in OC forever.
Never once did I ever see, hear, or experience any kind of predjuiced towards either of us.
My wife rose rapidly in her job to a technical management position, her race never impacted her a bit.
My coworkers were probably 90% Hispanic, and some of them are our best friends.
I have never seen or experienced any form of prejudiced. Perhaps some are seeing things that don't exist...?

Its more plausable that you didn't see something that does exist, than us inventing something that doesn't... Please.

Could it be that you are so used to the culture of OC that you and your wife have grown thick skin, thus just not seeing it?

My wife and I are Mexican but we grew up in New York and Florida, so I would say outsiders may expect a friendlier culture. To us, it was a total

I don't think the two perceptions are mutually exclusive. I grew up in the Long Beach area so OC is probably more familiar to me than LA. My environment was working class Latino and white (other minorities were miscellaneous back then), so my ship navigated in that grey area between concentrations where everyone was more or less cool with each other. Still, I was very well aware of sharp racist attitudes in posh enclaves like Newport Beach.

This was decades ago. I'm dismayed the attitudes persist.

Why would it be? Most of them are wealthy and they create many business throughout the Los Angeles area.

That sounds to me like a good thing. If you are correct, that means we didn't waste our time worring abour other people's perception of us.
We lived in the upscale area of Yorba Linda, and traveled in upper class circles, and NO, there was never any predjuiced towards us..
If people don't like you, it isn't because of your color, or lack thereof...

Your opinion doesn't invalidate anyones else's experience. I know what I experienced in OC as far as discrimination and general dislike of Mexicans. I found it highly common for people to begin putting down Mexicans before they even surveyed the people around them, to see if there were Mexican Americans right next to them. I found myself constantly telling (mainly white people) that: "Hey I am half Mexican you know?"...it pretty much shut them up.

Your anecdotal evidence doesn't override his anecdotal evidence either.

If they have money, create wealth, and start businesses, than it's not. (And it's not limited to Beverly Hills - West L.A. and Westwood have been at least as affected as Beverly Hills)

Having lived through "Iran's invasion of the west side" which coincided with the hostage crisis, I'd say back then the Persian influx did create some real, genuine ethnic tensions. Fortunately, though, the younger generation seems to have Americanized quite, quite well (even in undesirable aspects like adapting Bro-ism as well as more desirable aspects like contributing to LA's economy and culture)

I know that BH people do have some real resentments about the Persian influx (which is only disproportionately Jewish, not exclusively Jewish - I'm sure that the Shia mosque in Palms attracts Persians as well as the Pakistanis and Indians who predominate in that more downscale area near BH) and the more recent Asian influx (as if Asians on the West Side are anything new....) However if those people contribute to the economy, as they seem to be doing, then their presence isnt a bad thing.
