I'm sure if China started bombing the US to "free" us from Obama's big government and your house was accidentally blown up killing your family inside, and then creating a civil war between the Tea Party and the Progressives making it so you can't even shop for groceries without worrying about getting killed, not being able to find a job because China blocked all imports to the US killing our economy etc... there would be many people willing to sign up to an organization whose key goal is to destroy China.
Good post. When children gathering firewood are killed, we call them collateral damage and expect their loved ones to just shrug it off. When hospitals are accidentally hit by drone attacks and patients are burned to death in their beds, then their families should understand that it's only war and we're the good guys.

Writing a post like this does not mean a person is unpatriotic in any way. It just means I am being realistic about what encourages people to wish us harm. If we walked in the shoes of the average person who lives in areas devastated by war, it wouldn't be too difficult to understand what motivates their hatred.

How about the women of the same religion that are raped and beheaded ? The children that are murdered in cold blood ? How about the young kids that are trained to kill by shooting hostages in the back of the head ? Stop making excuses for barbaric cultures and one whose barbarism existed long before the U.S. came into existence. The Middle Eastern countries have been at war for centuries.

Nothing wrong with admitting that a lot of folks in the Middle East just don't like the Western way of life. And we want to admit more of them into the U.S. in the hope that they just might assimilate some day ...

Yup, and we need to stop pretending we're the world's police.

A ruthless stable dictator is a better option than chaos and terrorism

Yup, and we also need to stop pretending we are the world's benefactor.

Any religion taken to an extreme is dangerous. I'm glad religion is on the decline, at least in the US.

And most of it started because of the West's involvement in the Middle East throughout history and today. That doesn't justify the barbaric acts commited, but to bury your head in the sand thinking there is extremism there simply because they hate the West's freedom is very naive. Actions have consquences and we still hven't learned from history or refuse to view it as if we were on the receiving end.

Sounds like discrimination to me. Just ask the AG or Hussein.

So sharia law started right around 1776 ? We were behind the gassing of the Kurds in 1985 ? Decades of Sunni versus Shiite conflict ? You'd be OK with us abandoning Israel and letting all Israelis get slaughtered without Western assistance ? Just watched a Saudi video the other day of a woman beheaded in public with police standing around with their hands in their pockets - must've been something we did.

And if the Muslims hate the West and its way of life, why are 2.7 million Muslims living in the U.K. right now ?
Not sure of the number here, but why here when so many more Muslim countries to choose from ?

Coexistence with folks with barbaric lifestyles is not possible - might have worked in the Middle Ages, but we don't do honor killings here and sharia law has no place in our society.
