Thanks to all for the great response to yesterday's peeve.
I'm fairly peeveless today. I've just received a cheque (check) in the post, had a lovely meal out with colleagues yesterday and am ahead in the jobs I need to do.
Hang on- I just had to grab a pen and there was one just where I put them.
But how often have you gone for the pen and it's not where it should be, or-and this hacks me off- it isn't working?
I have seen people find that a (disposable) pen isn't working and put it back in the same place.
Today's peeve;
Pen not where it should be, or a dud one left out.
I went through 6 pens yesterday and finally found one that worked. I tossed the non-working pens in the recycler.
You know that you can revive some of the old pens. No, not with mouth to mouth...they don't have mouths, silly. Light a match to the bottom of the pen, where the ink comes out, for a few seconds. And if it's not solid concrete in there yet, it will work again. If not, toss it.
I have pencil caddies in 3 rooms FILLED with pens (also scissors). I carry 2 pens in my purse (plus scissors) and I have my cheater glasses and magnifying glasses right next to the pencil caddies.
So if one pen doesn't work, I toss it and go to the next one.
Huge peeve of mine - one time at the Boquete office I needed one real quick and I swear I grabbed at least 4 in a row that didn't work before I found one that did. I wasn't at my desk and I have no clue why the person with all the bad pens didn't just toss them After I finished with what I was doing I spent a while going through all the pens and tossing the bad ones. I couldn't believe how many I ended up throwing in the trash because they didn't work
