The illegal "shrooms" were pretty popular when I was growing up. Are they still popular today?

Coming right up:

My digestive track is working this over as I type. Now for the subject of whether to was or not, if washed in some good ginger ale that might make an awesome stir fry and if washed in pineapple juice and piled onto a ham steak, oh the possibilities are endless. Now I've got a new idea for a steak house chain thanks to this thread. Need some cowgirls in Stetsons and baggy jeans and western shirts and I see dollar signs. Where there is a will there is a way.

I always wash greens before using them in salads. Water won't hurt them. But mushrooms are simply better if you don't get them wet.

Ah, fresh Indiana morels in the springtime. I used to pick wild morels out in the country here every year around Memorial Day. Haven't done it for at least 10 years now; partly because most of the places I used to pick them are now housing subdivisions instead of woods and fields. Great memories, though!

Nope sorry love, can't stand the thought of someone touching anything that goes in my mouth that hasn't been washed. I even wash watermelons with dish soap before I cut them. They'll just have to taste a little bit different. (OK so I tried the other kind when I was really young but I didn't inhale. Oh right that was the other stuff.)
