My kids went through their diaper stage of life in cloth diapers. I washed them and hung them on the line to dry. I don't even remember if disposable diapers were available then. Diaper services were available but I never used one.
I've tried to find the old style birds-eye cloth diapers that you had to fold yourself but all I see available today are the pre-folded diapers. You can't even find the birds-eye cloth available on a bolt of cloth anymore and there is nothing better for use as household cleaning cloths.

Now they sell food products.....consentrated diapers.

I don't know if "birds-eye" fabric was a brand name, a weave or what but that's what that highly absorbent, cotton cloth was called. Have no idea if or how it may be related to the Birds-Eye brand of frozen foods.
I always used the worn out diapers for cleaning cloths.
