I remember elevators didn’t have doors, they simply had a metal cage door and you could view the inside of the building as you passed by each floor.
Wow, yes! I was in awe of those rides....especially when the operator stopped to high and bounced the elevator back down to the right level, and then the real amateur who when too low and the had to try to bring it back up to the right level. I kinda liked those bouncy occasions but most grownup women sure didn't.
When ball point pens came out, we were not allowed to use them.
They were messy, leaked all over your hand, and if the ink got on your clothes, it would not come out in the wash....
I can remember when a waiter/waitress brought glasses of water to the table before taking orders for drinks and food.
And real table cloth -napkins - glass salt & pepper shakers and the " Sugar Container " with the little flip lid ………. no cells phones and people screaming to talk
