Our area is fairly new (as far as trees go anyway) so we don't have but a handful of squirrels. Macie isn't quite sure what they are but they are worse that bunnies to her. Bunnies she really and truly thinks she has a chance to catch (except, she's not very stealthy, she just bounds out of the house, barking all the while)...squirrels don't have to do anything but perch on the top of the fence watching her make a fool of herself....

Macie is your dog, not your kid? All this time I never realized that!

LOL!...I would never actually name my kids on a public forum...

We already know how small a world this is when a good number of us live within an hour or so ( and a handful within a few minutes!).....

Well....now my secret is out....

I have gotten a few chuckles though...someone once said they felt really sorry for Macie (I think in response to my thought that 16 yo's didn't always "need" a car for social status or something)...My thought was, well, to be honest, Macie doesn't really care whether she has a car or not! LOL

It is sort of a freaky coincidence that so many of you live in Colorado.

I like our bunnies and squirrels. There's no visible large game here except for deer.

The coyotes aren't a big problem, They keep to themselves, only come out at night, and are rarely seen.

Bears are farther away from the city in surrounding counties.

Bald Eagles, Hawks, etc. are everywhere around here. An owl lives in the woods across my street. The crows always harrass it.

There have been mountain lion sightings but the state's official stance is that there aren't mountain lions in the state.

My husband has seen two mountain lions himself. I can't understand why the state would deny their existence.

That's hillarious! I'm sure Macie only cares about getting rubbed behind the ear, an occassional treat, and a nice nature walk!

Then again, my dogs LOVE to ride in the car! Maybe our dogs are deprived. Maybe they need a care to increase their social standing in the neighborhood pack!

Some pictures from a few years ago.....

Macie loooooves a car ride...but I don't think she particularly cares what the car looks like or if she can drive it to school!

Awe! She's sweet! She sure does love the snow!

My dogs have NEVER rolled in the snow. When the lab was younger, he'd run around in the snow. Now that he's older, he just wants to get back inside as soon as possible.

The funniest thing is when my basset catches a scent in the snow. He'll get his nose down into the snow and start snorting. I swear he's snorting snow! He's an addict! lol

Goldens are double coated...and Macie has a particularly full coat - even for a Golden - the vet even comments on it from time to time. She gets hot easily. She loves the colder weather. Unfortunately, not much of that so far this year....We have yet to have more than about 2 inches of snow - and that has even only happened once so far.
