Never. Not sure if it's illegal though.

Saving a couple of minutes is not worth the risk.

Nope.... never did that.
Why do you ask? Do you do that?

And, really.... who ever goes in to a post office, conducts their business, and returns in LESS THAN A MINUTE???

Nope, you never know when a minute can turn into 15mins. I never left my daughter in a car until she could get out and walk inside on her own.

No, never.

How can you even go in and out of a store/post office in less than a minute and actually do anything?

Into a store or post office? No. Out of the car to drop off books at the library box, or a video at Blockbuster (yeah, it's been a while), yes.

I think the laws are murky in most places. The concern now is kids being left in hot cars, and it's a legitimate one.

Yes.. Yeah that's totally it! I think everyone does that!
And I think the real issue is that it can turn into more then a quick second and endanger a child.

NO, never. Not once in his entire life. The only time I've left him in the car is in the garage, while I'm getting the groceries in or running back to get something I forgot. Never in public. I've seen some parents with multiple kids leave a baby in the car for a moment or two to pick up an older kid, but they were in sight of the car the whole time. I probably did get cash from an ATM a few times when he was a baby - but only if I could park the car right in front of the machine.
