Uhh...he IS a victim. Did you see his face? That is assault, followed by attempted murder. The guy wasn't a threat, at least as far as we know. And, he was invited into the home by her.
Do we know if she was honest about her age? Did she mention it was her parents' home? The 20-year-old obviously wasn't operating with a full deck, either, but he didn't deserve to be attacked in such a vicious manner followed by an attempt to take his life.
Do you advocate violence to resolve all issues? This situation didn't require violence. Dad could have asked him to leave and then Mom and Dad could have a heart-to-heart with their little princess before grounding her. That would be holding her accountable. Heck, she almost got the guy killed. If the dad was successful in killing him, he would he behind bars for a long time, mom would be an accessory and possibly in jail, and the little princess could have ruined three lives with her decision.
*By the way, I inadvertently clicked "increase your reputation". That was, obviously, unintentional.
tinder wasnt mentioned in the article but i presume it was used in which case i think it has an age restriction of 18 (i have never used it).

One of the articles that I read mentioned the two met on a gaming app. Never played online games so I have no idea if age verification is required. The 20-year-old looked more like 15 in the pics to me. She may have looked older than 14, as well.

thanks, most games are rated-m for mature. but when i was playing counter-strike, it was mostly kids screaming racial slurs into the mic.
i think even rated-teen games have a disclaimer of get your parents permission to play online since they cant censor online content (kinda' like porn sites that say clik yes if youre over 18.).
A jury is supposed to set aside their emotions and evaluate a crime based on THE LAW ...not what YOU believe should influence a jury decision.

The average juror would not be an expert on the law. Therefore the jury would need to be brought up to speed on the law by a court counselor thereby enabling a decision of guilty or not guilty to be made based on the law. I mean, a person's life may be at stake so there would need to be someone on hand versed in the law to guide a lawful jury decision. Or, maybe I am sadly naive.
lmaooo at the guy's NAME "Keywontrezes" wth was his mother on drugs?
Ok if this were MY 14y/o (mine are 20, 22, 36 and 37) I'd have beaten HER ass not his.
SHE invited this...icky guy...to her room! Who knows what she told him? She may've lied about her age. She may've told him her parents were cool with it.
She is apparently not into abstaining. Or being discriminating in her choices. Or preserving any sense of dignity. This is on her and her parents not this unfortunately named guy. How is this his fault when this idiot girl WANTED him? Invited him.
Had one of mine done this I'd have been furious, with her (three of mine are girls).
This father is likely the sort who thinks his kids are angelic and refuses to face the fact that his 14 y/o is a tramp with horrible taste in guys "Keywontrezes" omg.
Finally, someone who gets it. The 14 year old is a skank in training.
Don't get the whole 14 year old with 20 year old controversy/taboo.
My grandmother was 14 when she married my 17 year old granddad. And this wasn't an arranged marriage. They were into each other. It's not paedophilia. It's inappropriate age for a relationship, but it's not paedophilia. Stop undermining paedophilia. There are real victims out there.

Yeah, calling this guy a pedo is so stupid. He was attracted to a girl who at the very least, looked to be a peer. That he was charged with "child molestation" is reallly messed up. This is not akin to these 40 y/o trying to score with girls they KNOW are 14.
If she told him her actual age I'd be surprised. She may've said 16 or 17. Wth is wrong with a 20y/o dating a 16 y/o. When my youngest was 17 she started dating a 20 y/o, a good, decent guy. They're still together 3 years later.
And like someone said above, kind of a slap in the face to those who have been victims as children of actual pedo freaks.
He seems to be dumb ghetto trash but he is not a pedo based upon this encounter.

This and this.
a 14 year old does not have the brain development to make good decision, we all know this. That's why these laws exist.
With that I have to laugh at the posters defending the dad. This went far past the initial beating. The officer made it clear that would not have resulted in charges. But he didn't stop, he fired at the guy who was not a threat as he was running away. You can't do that guys, he should have been arrested.
