I honestly don't care what color the skin is....for me it's about whether he is a nice guy or a thug!! a thug of any color is not welcome in my house let alone date my daughter!
Do people still use language like the previous poster "your own kind" ? What does that mean? I'm Irish Catholic, white but not the same "kind" as my German Protestant husband or my biracial (Japanese/Hawaiian) BIL. Our kids are Asian, my son is half Asian, my daughter entirely Asian...are we different "kinds"? Cause we feel a lot like a family to me. Language like that makes me think that the poster is hoping her daughter will marry her cousin...cause that WOULD be her own kind, otherwise its a crap shoot.
Really, this kind of talk is just so redneck to me, I don't get it a bit.
